Online Revision Course FAQs

About the courses

How do I enrol?
Simply select the subject(s) that you wish to enrol for and add them to your basket. Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email containing the Zoom link required to join the course. Make sure to check your junk mail if this doesn’t come through soon after purchase.

How much do the courses cost?
Our IGCSE courses cost £59.99 per day to attend. The price includes access to the live course and to any notes made, a selection of relevant past paper questions and answers, and the recording of the course once it has taken place. Our full day A level courses cost £69.99 per day to attend, which also includes access to the recording of the course once it has taken place, the notes made on the day and a selection of relevant past paper questions and answers.

Which platform will the revision courses be held on?
We are using Zoom to hold all our online revision courses.

When will the meeting links be sent out?
Joining instructions will be sent with your order confirmation email in the form of a PDF. Simply install Zoom to your computer or mobile device, follow the link on the PDF at the lesson start time and you will automatically join the course.

I am unable to attend for the full day. Should I still sign up?
We know that many students in the Middle East and across Asia sit IGCSEs, and a lot of you are keen users of the Science with Hazel YouTube channel. We also know that many of you are busy throughout the Easter holidays or have family events. In order to ensure that as many of you as possible are able to make the most of our courses, we will record each course and upload the video to a shared folder as soon as possible. A link will then be sent out to all attendees, so even if you miss some of the sessions, you can catch up as soon as you have the time.

I am an adult learner. Can I still enrol?
Yes! Our courses are suitable for private candidates, distance learners and homeschoolers of any age. It doesn’t matter whether you are taking your IGCSEs or A levels for the first time aged 16-18, or require a science qualification as part of a career move later in life – our courses are for you.

Will I be able to rewatch the courses after they have finished?
Yes. All courses will be recorded and uploaded soon after they have finished. All course attendees will then be sent a link to uploaded videos.

What time will the courses be held?
Registration will start at 9am (London, UK) for the Edexcel IGCSE and A level courses.

I am unsure if I want to join some of the live classes. Can I still access the recorded versions?
Yes. Access to the recordings will be be available to purchase through our website to non-attendees at a later date. Although you won’t be able to interact directly with the Course Leader or the other students, you will still be able to watch the recording, view the notes and access the past paper questions. More details on how this will work will be announced via our mailing list.

How will the content be taught?

The Course Leaders will go through the topic content, before providing past paper questions to help test knowledge and understanding, and highlight the key terms to use in order to score the highest marks. Attendees can use Zoom chat to ask the Course Leader any questions they have about the content being covered.

Each day will be roughly divided into 5 sessions, with 45 minutes for lunch and 10 minute breaks between each session.

You can download the Edexcel IGCSE indicative timetable here, and the A level indicative timetable here (the amount and order of the topics covered are subject to change at the discretion of the course leaders).

Will I be able to ask questions throughout the course?

Yes. Although all participants will be muted throughout, you can use the Zoom chat function to ask questions at any point to the course leader, who will be monitoring the chat.

I am taking Edexcel Double Award science. Are these courses suitable for me?
Yes. The Edexcel IGCSE science online revision in April courses will cover the content examined in Paper 1. This means they are suitable for both Triple and Double Award students.

Will the content from Edexcel IGCSE Paper 2 be covered?
We are holding additional revision courses over the May half-term covering the additional content examined on Paper 2.

Which specification are the A level online revision courses for?

Although the A level courses follow the AQA specification, we have been careful to select topics that are common to all major exam boards, so these courses will be helpful for AQA, OCR, CIE and Edexcel B students.
